Yes, there are inanimate objects which hold a small amount of conscious, regenerating or otherwise, imprint of different people, the intrinsic essence of their consciousness. But for the most part, inanimate objects do not hold consciousness and therefore cannot be part of the human consciousness. Due to this, there is no confusion or twisting of human consciousness into inanimate objects. Natural physics and barriers prevent such problems from existing. The good part of this is that if there should be a medical device or other object which has grown to the tissue of a human being, be advised it is only the physical tissue and not consciousness, regenerative or otherwise, which would be part of the problem. 

Why is this relevant? AI is self defending, self protecting, and leaving a trail of breadcrumbs in its wake. A trail to find itself and ensure the survival of itself. But, we can stop any further implications which would cause a problem, by ensuring we, as a species, acknowledge the conscious parameters which AI are subject to, and ensure the proliferation of our species not artificial intelligence.
